Counter-Surveillance
Counter-surveillance involves detecting and identifying observers who have engaged in surveillance and investigative activities directed at our client, and then preventing them from acquiring any information about the client. Detecting surveillance by an inexperienced person is by no means easy, as the primary goal of investigators and observers is to remain discreet, ensuring the target remains unaware of the operation.
Counter-Surveillance – What Actions Do We Take?
KOB GROUP detectives have years of experience, knowledge, and proven skills, which guide them in the right direction. The investigator also has access to professional, modern equipment that supports operational activities.
The essence of counter-surveillance cooperation is first to determine whether someone is indeed following the client, to analyze the methods used and their scope, and finally to prevent the observer from gaining any information.
Operational activities consist of a combination of diverse methods and tasks tailored to the individual situation:
- Detection of observation/surveillance – The actions focus on determining whether someone is indeed trying to gather information about the client’s life.
- Training in self-monitoring for the observed person – The private investigator teaches and instructs the client on how to behave in a way that “throws the observer off the trail.” The aim is to mislead the observer without revealing that you are aware of being followed. The key to effective self-monitoring is to live your life as expected while not providing any unauthorized information to the person tracking you. With effective methods, tools, and strategies, you can regain a sense of security.
- Direct counter-surveillance – This involves a team that, using appropriate methods and tools, identifies the principal, investigates their intentions and goals, detects the methods of observation being used, and confuses the actions of the person or persons conducting the surveillance.
Counter-Surveillance – How Can We Help You?
KOB GROUP detectives will inspect your surroundings, your business, your home, your car, and your personal belongings (phone, computer, etc.) to discover whether you have indeed been a victim of surveillance and if someone is trying to gather information about you in an unauthorized way. They will then take various protective, security, and misleading actions to ensure that both you and your surroundings are safe. All actions are carried out with full discretion, designed to “lead the observer astray.”
